Should I Incorporate In NEvada Or North Carolina?

I live in NC and I have bought 5 houses, sold 2, rented 2, have 1 to sell. I am ready to incorporate for asset protection. Nevada's corporation costs $3200 and NC's (using my lawyer) will cost $650. I have read that there's advantages to incorporating in Nevada. Is it really worth it to me. It there that much of a tax savings? Should I incorporate in Nevada or my homestate of North Carolin. confused

You may want to consider Delaware for many of the same reasons that you would consider Nevada. Closer to your neck of the woods as well.

Does Delaware have state taxes? Do you know what the cost would be for a LLC and a C Corp?

check with a CPA or Tax Attorney before you do anything. Everybody who reads Rich Dad Advisors always talk about Nevada Corps, what they fail to tell you is depending on what state you live in, there are other rules that you must follow. I was going to do the Nevada thing but it ended up being pointless given that I live in Florida. No state taxes in Florida already and also you have to disclose a bunch of information because Florida is a disclosure state which defeats some of the benefits of a Nevada corp. However I found a good CPA and my name still is not on public record. Talk to people in your REI group and find out what they are doing.
