Private Lender Payoff
I am paying off a private mortgage I have (the term is nearly due), and the mortgagee is having her attorney draw up a payoff amount. Am I responsible for the mortgagee's attorney fees?
(Nothing in the contract states I have to pay attorney fees for a payoff...only in the case of foreclosure)
I know I pay for the attorney fee's for the new lender, and all those costs associated....but the old mortgagee wants me to pay $350/hr for her attorney.
Any words of wisdom you could throw my way would be great.
