I live in NJ and paid off my mortgage last year. Am I supposed to get a Deed or something from the county(Burlington)? WHat am I supposed to get and who do I get it from? :-?
Your lender should provide a release of lein properly executed. This should be recorded with the county recorder of deeds office. They may have done this automatically but it wouldn't hurt to check. In addition the original of your mortgage note should be returned to you.
