negotiating commissions

My church is presently looking at a listed piece of N.C. property in the million dollar range. Is it illegal or unethical to ask the sellers agent to negotiate down the normal commission, or consider a donation back to the church a portion of commission.

    wbrowncharlie,

    Glad to meet you.

I think I would take a different approach, it is not the agent I would be concerned with it is the seller of the property I would negotiate with to where the agents commission is not a big factor.

When you make the offer on the property keep in mind the agents commission, in other words what you offer the seller should be what your are really willing bottom line to pay for the property no matter who is involved.

Welcome on board this board, keep on posting you will get some real good advice from some great people here at TCI.
