LLC Across Multiple States

I own property in Maryland and New York. My home is in Maryland, does it matter where (state) the LLC is formed? [ Edited by fdi on Date 01/06/2005 ]

I don't know what you mean by "does it matter"... But I have a New Jersey based LLC and I can use that LLC in any of the 50 US States. Legally you can use them in the US (any state) but as for liability - I think that changes from state to state...

    Good Luck!

I'll broaden my question with your response. If you were purchasing a house in MD, would it be more beneficial to use your NJ based LLC or establish a MD based LLC or does it matter? Please correct me if I'm wrong...banks to to incoporate in Delaware because of favorable banking laws. Is there an analagous state for REI LLCs?

    Thanks!
