Liability Issues
I am new to REI, and was just wandering.....earlier this week in my community a young woman perished in a fire caused by an faulty electrical outlet. This incident was indeed a tragedy. I later found out she was a tenant on the property. Is liability an issue for the landlord? It may seem like a shallow question, but as I am about to purchase my first rental property I am sure I will come across similar situations in my career...hopefully on a much less tragic scale.
