Judgement Recorded 1 Day Before The Deed

estego profile photo

I purchased and closed on a house on 9-22-06. On 9-25-06 a judgement was recorded against the property seller. The deed giving me title was recorded on 9-26-06. The title company is telling me now that I cannot get a Title Policy and that I would have to pay for the judgement to clear this matter.

Whose responsability is it?

Thanks in advance

You did purchase owners title insurance at closing, yes??--it should show on the second page of the hud.

If you bought title insurance on the 22 then you should be covered regardless of when the judgement was recorded.
The sellers title insurance should also chip in.
It is actually the closing company's fault so go make some waves
