Judgement Help

deuce442 profile photo

Hi all,

I am a landord, and I recently had a tenant break her lease, and move out with significant damages.

I ended up with a judgement for money in my favor. However, the lady returned the financial disclosure claiming she is now unemployed and has no bank accounts. I verified she does not work where she use to work, but I also do not believe she is unemployed.

In any case, is there a way to follow up on this other than hiring a private investigator? Can I somehow request another financial disclouser several months from now?

Any info would be helpful. Thanks.

    deuce442,

    Glad to meet you.

There are companies that will hanlde the collection on your judgement and the good ones will find where the person works, plus location, etc. fast.

You will split a portion of the judgement amount by doing it this way, but better than having you spin your wheels trying to find out the information you will need to collect.

    Just a thought,

Not sure about your state but in California you can have her subpoenad to testify in court as to her assets..

Also record the judgment in ALL counties that you believe she may do business in...

    Michael,

Yes, you could probably find out where she hides her Second Hand Store Faux Polyester coat with her string collection hidden inside.

Something about wasting your time and turnips.
