I Had To Evict Someone, And Now I Would Like To Report Them To The Credit Bureaus

How do I go about doing this?

The people moved in Oct 2004. They stopped paying rent March 2005. I finally got them evicted (due to a crappy lawyer and horrendous DC tenant-landlord laws) in DECEMBER of 2005.

I would like to file a judgement against them for the money they owe me, and also report these people to the credit bureaus.

Sue them and get a judgement.

When you got the eviction didnt you have to go to court and get judgement also which would go on thier credit report?

Once you have judgement and dont think these are the type you will ever collect from, which they sound like, dont forget to cause them a few problems with a 1099 at end of year.
Just have to send it to last know address which could be your rental. Forgiveness of a debt is considered income to the deadbeats so why the 1099. You file a copy with the IRS, Tenant has IRS problems since its a safe bet they wont include this on thier tax return.

Not so hmmp. What you are talking about is getting a credit report on someone.

To report bad credit, you must be a reporting member. To qualify, you must undergo financial inspection by all three agencies and pay around $1,000 in fees. You have to have a pretty big operation, like a large apartment complex to make it economically feasible.

sounds like it is not the same in different areas.
Best bet is call the court clerks office and ask them.
In my area all you have to do is get judgement and it automaticaly goes on thier credit report no charge and no extra steps. The clerks office does this once a month.
