Fraudulent Real Estate Lien.

I bought a house to rehab and resell. I hired a contractor who took my money and abandoned the job (I am stupid new investor, learning at high cost ) Then, this "contractor" placed a lien on my property because he says I owe him money.

I sent a Notice of Contest the lien, almost 2 months ago,and of course he did not contest the lien yet and he will not do it, because I do not owe him anything.

Then, I looked in the internet, and he put around 4 liens to diferent homeowners and never contest the liens ....

I am guessing that he thinks the homeowner will pay the amount for the lien to remove the lien and re-sell the house quickly. I prefered to wait my 60 days to get the lien removed, but do not pay any other cent to this guy.

Is there any way I can report this guy to be placing liens with no bases? placing a lien without any reason is a fraud.

I already report the incident about the money and that he abandoned the job to the Florida State Department and the Florida General Attorney has the case and they will sue him for missdemanuer. But he placed the lien on my property after I submitted the complaint.



I have to stop this guy from ripping people money ...



Any advise?

    Report him to the better business bureau. I am in the Orlando area, who is he?

    he is in Tampa, I do not know if I can write names here, since I am in a middle of a legal issue.

    The better business bureau is to report a complaint. But this is a fraud, a felony. Better Business Bureau is going to mediate to resilve the problem. But the problem here is that he is a insame person ... trying to rip off people

    And he does not place the lien as a contractor, he does this as a personal lien. [ Edited by orlandofl on Date 05/22/2006 ]

    Loon, I do not think that any of the lien are legit, since there is no other recorded document after each NOTICE OF CONTEST THE LEIN following the case. (I checked out the public records)

    If he does not contest the lien in 60 days, the lien is voided.

    I could be wrong and he contested the lien, but could he does that and did not record it?

    Well, the General Attorney office opened a missdemauner (?) case against this person.

    We are in the process .....
