Do I need a Business License?

 profile photo

I am a new CREI in Arizona that will be dealing mainly with Lease Options, Subject To Deals and some Flipping.

1. At what point do I need a business license?

2. What Business form is recommended? IE: Sole Proprietorship, or LLC.

3. From a marketing perspective, is it recommended to use your own name or will a DBA name add more credibility with prospective clients.

Thanks in Advance for your help with the above questions! smile

    Vincenzo,

    Glad to meet you.

    Q. At what point do I need a business license?

    A. You don't need a business license, I have done many Subject To deals in many States including Arizona, no licenses needed.

    Q. What Business form is recommended? IE: Sole Proprietorship, or LLC.

    A. I think you will find the general consensus would be a LLC for the type of investing you want to do. It gives you the protection you should have.

Sole Proprietorship offers no personal protection.

    Q. From a marketing perspective, is it recommended to use your own name or will a DBA name add more credibility with prospective clients.

    A. I have found that the people you will be dealing with like the personal touch rather than a Corporate approach. So use your own name when talking with sellers and your corporate name on your paperwork.
