Deed Change
I am buying a home from a friend. He has asked me to find out how to take his deceased wife's name off the deed of their home so he can sell it to me. He is out of state so I am getting the form for him. How do I do this? :-?
My brokerage experience in conveyances like this is that the surviving spouse just produces a certified copy of the death certificate at closing. The title company prepares a new deed anyway to show the transfer from the seller to the buyer. But check with a local title company on this.
