Condo Association Fees!

ddlingo profile photo

I got a problem wiht condo association fees. I bought an investment property a year ago and the association fees were "mis-stateed" on the Hud-1. I was told that hte properties associatin fees were $50 per month, but I later got a bill for $100 per month. They associaiton sued me after we argued over the cost for sometime. Also the associaiton has let the property run down, by not taking care of the other units and not painting and replacing bad siding and roofing. Is there anythng that we can do?

    Not much.

Become a member of the association board and make changes from the inside.

You could also sell the property.

I wouldn’t suggest using any contract or form that is “generic.”

Individual state laws vary tremendously, and a generic contract can be the difference between winning or losing a lawsuit.

If you want to do your own contracts, you can start at the link below. But I would still highly recommend having a good RE attorney go through whatever you are using.
