Can Someone Answer A Really Stupid Question?

Let's say I don't form an LLC, instead I get a ficticious business name. In the contracts, is the business name used instead of my name? What about the signature part?

You could use the business name in the contract or your name dba ABC Company.

    Signature

    ABC Company (Print or type)

    By You Owner

This will give no special protection against creditors as DBA companies are not separate legal entities. The DBA does help hide ownership but the DBA papers have to be filed at the courthouse. Hope i helped
