Can I Go After The Inspector?

Hi I've owned a rental house for 2 years, I just have the roofer to inspect the roof, and he told me the roof is very poorly installed and does not have any ventilation and so the wood is rotten. I didn't recall my inspector has ever told us that when he did the home inspection. Also the FHA appraisor also didn't point this out. And this roofer said they should never have passed this for FHA financing which is what I used when I bought the house.

My question is can I go after my inspector as well as teh FHA inspector in this regard? The roof is old and now I probably have to replace it. But just shocked it's in such bad condition.

thanks.

You can certainly try going after both, although they will argue that since two years passed by, things could've changed dramatically.

Well, the problem is the roof has never had ventilation and is not properly installed, so I don't think the fact 2 years passed would affect that. Could you clarify that for me?

Chasing the FHA inspector is propbaby a waste of time. But the home inspection service you used for the initial inspection should have given you a written report. If the roof condition is not in there you may have recourse.
