Acquiring Ownership

wq profile photo

I have rented the same home for 18 years. Is there still a law in PA to acquire the home from the landlord after a certain number of years? If so, where would I find information?
Would the law be the same if the rental payment was govt subsidized at varying amts during the course of the tenantship?

I think you might be thinking of adverse possession but that would not apply to this at all.

The only way to obtain US notarized service overseas is to go to the Embassy...

The other thing to keep in mind when structuring a somewhat complicated transaction as described is that it can eliminate or reduce your flexibility in structuring 1031 exchange transactions at the back end when you ultimately sell the property. You must quite often use the same entity configuration to complete the acquisition of your replacement property, but lenders will usually not touch the configuration as outlined, thereby creating 1031 exchange issues. I would determine what your exit strategy is first and then decide which is the best method for holding title.
