I love this website! Can you please answer an age old question. Iam an RE investor and have considered getting my realtor license for a while now. However, I get some people saying "Do it for sure!" and some people saying " Dont do it, your crazy to because of the legal liability!" Your input is appreciated. thanks.

To my knowledge, there is no such thing as a 'realtor' license. You may be able to obtain a real estate salespersons' license, and eventually a real estate brokers' license... but not a "realtor" license. Yeah, I know what you mean and maybe I'n nitpicking... but if we want to represent ourselves as being 'professionals' then we ought to know a bit about the jargon of our own trade. You are not alone.

"Realtor" is a dues collecting trade organization. You can be a real estate broker, or brokers' agent without being a Realtor. You can be a Realtor without being a licensed real estate broker or brokers' agent.

Realtor is a membership organization much like the lawyers have the ABA (American Bar Association), or architects have the AIA, or doctors have the AMA, etc.

If you want to get the license, I would get it. The liabilities can be eliminated as long as you disclose you are an agent when you buy and sell, right?

Access to the MLS, well worth it.

Get the license to learn the other side and if you really want to be an agent. I know many agents who are great investors and do well at it. Try to find an agent on this forum or someone who is an agent and also invests and get there point of view, that is going to be your best bet.
