I used to wonder the same thing. A lot of people do and a lot of people dont.

I had a guy who i was dealing with who never returned my calls and then about 2 months later i saw it on the market and it sold.

I really dont know why people dont do this more. It would only make sense. From what i have heard from people is that they think they do not have the time to sell. I dont think they realize that they have months and months before they actually foreclose. A lot of the houses i get need a lot of work and sometimes arent worth what they would owe after you figure in all the back payments and lawyer fees

A lot of other people are just lazy. Some people might be in the hospital with a sickness and have more serious things to worry about. Other than that there is really no reason they cannot sell the houses once they realize they cant afford it. denial i guess

hope that helps a little bit,

p.s. sorry jam i was typing the same time you were and you posted in before i could read what you wrote

yeah i really had a hard time with this when i started. I only started believing it when i went to the town hall and looked at the number of foreclosures. I couldnt get through my head why people just didnt sell their house before they foreclosed.
