What are the necessary steps you take when searching the courthouse records to find out if someone is delinquent on their property taxes.
What are the necessary steps you take when searching the courthouse records to find out if someone is delinquent on their property taxes.
I live in DC, but I'm pretty sure the process is similar across the country.
You should find the related city building (recorder of deeds or City Tax Office) and do a basic title search. Any outstanding liens should show up along with any existing mortgages.
