Sheriff Sale - Question about Plaintiff

house2house profile photo

Hi,

I would like to know when I am bidding against the Plaintiff (Bank), because they are driving it up. I want to know who they are.

If, when the Sheriff announced the property for auction, AND I asked to know if the Plaintiff (Bank) was in the room, do they have to admit to representing the lending institution.(Bank)

Thank you,
House2house

Usually they are standing next to the deputy... Don't worry about them driving up the price. They are only worried about one thing, which is preserving their money that the homeowner didn't pay, plus interest, atty fees, etc. Any overage above and beyond will go to the homeowner.

    Good Luck,
    Shawn(OH)

The Plaintiff's rep usually makes the initial bid.

You could simply ask, before the bidding begins, "Who here is representing XYZ Bank?"
