Does anyone know the if the laws for evicting occupants from the home that sold sheriff sale are all the same for every county? Or does each county have their own laws? One in particular is how long after the sheriff sale does the occupants have to move out? Thanks, Theresa :-?

In St. Louis Missouri a owner having their home sold by the Sheriff's Dept for deliquint taxes has an entire year to actually find the money and repay it, in which case you would have to sell it back. An entire year! and you can't evict them in that time, but only charge them some kind of rent i believe.

    Hi Theresa,
I had the same question. I called the county office where the house was located and got the entire rundown of the process, cost, timeline for that particular county. I think it does vary county to county.

Besides the filng fees and timeline I needed to follow I also needed to factor in having a liscenced bonded mover move the entire contents of the house to a liscenced bonded storage facility and pay for 90 days of storage.

I would suggest calling the county office where the house is located. They were extremely helpful anserwing my questions. Good luck
