Researching Title And Liens
Im am new to this. I plan to buy foreclosures at auctions. I know I have to research the property and check for back liens and 2nd mortgages. I know this is done through either a title company or county clerks office. I plan to go to the county clerk office. What I need to know is what types of documents am i looking specifically for? Thanks for any help.

suggestion..call and ask title officer what is in their "package"..besides what you have already mentioned,..taxes, easements, surveyor's report, judgements, the plat ( to be sure it is located where it's supposed to be ).. these come to mind ..I'm sure there are more.. may-be the county clerk can be of help.
When you get all the info. how about filling the rest of us in ?
