Looking For A Mentor

BizMan12 profile photo

I am trying to find a mentor to help me get started in real estate investing. I have a couple concerns and would feel a whole lot better if I had someone to walk me through my first and maybe second deals. I want to work in Loudoun County, Virginia. If anyone works in Northern Virginia and would be willing to help I can't express how grateful I would be. I tried to join a group of investors in Virginia but because I don't live in Virginia, I live in Jefferson County, WV, I can't join. I know there must be investors in Northern Virginia so if you would be willing to help or can point me out to a friend I would be SO grateful. Leave me a private message or post a reply PLEASE!! Thanks.

    Hey guys,
It's been a week since I posted this desperate attempt and I still haven't heard anything. I am VERY desperate for a mentor so if anyone knows ANYTHING at all that will help me in Loudoun County, VA, PLEASE let me know soon! Thanks.

I know what you are feeling, Bizman.
I've looked to this site for "mentoring" or good advice, as the case may be, and believe me, there's a wealth of it here. I joined a REI club locally and I have had no problem finding mentors there. You'd be surprised how willing these folks will be to help you. I wouldn't tell them specifics, as in address, etc, but there are plenty of properties to go around.
Also, if you want good advice here, go ahead and create a new post and just flat out ask what you need to know. Be very specific and ask the questions that have you most concerned. I'll guarantee you will be responded to.

Thanks for the advice. I joined a No. VA real estate investing club so hopefully they will help me. I know that people are very helpful for fellow investors. I have been given advice by the wonderful people of TCI.

Find a brand-spankin' new Realtor. They have time and want to build relationships and you need information. You can learn some stuff together and build common contacts. You may not want to use them in all your deals--but they have access to foreclosures... the relationship can be mutually beneficial. Because of the business you are trying to build and they are trying to build--you could become a good source of referrals for them and they could become a good source of info for you.
