How to find foreclosures first..........
Hello and thank you for you time.
I am a newbie and I’m desperately seeking some advice and guidance. I need some pointers on how to find foreclosures first. I tried going down to court house and they offer to sell me a disc which contain all the information I need. This disc costs $125.00 and is updated on a weekly basis. How can I find this information without paying for it? Where do I start?? HELP ME PLEASE.

Look in the local news papers under Legal Notices. By law it must be posted in a local paper. I have had success and you will also, you just need to find out which local paper works best for you.

Highlight 'Sheriff Sales' on the left and search using your county.

There is a way for you to find out which Legal Newspapers in your area are publishing the Notice's of Default (NOD) and Notice's of Trustee Sale (NTS)/Sheriff's Sale.
All you need to do is contact a handful of Real Estate Attorneys in your area and find out which Legal Newspapers they subscribe to! You can bet that this is how they are finding out about the NOD's and NTS's!
Most of these newspapers are less expensive than your local high-volume newspaper. Give this a try and see what happens.

Around here(CA) and for what it's worth.
I think the clock starts clicking when the first NOD ad hits the newspaper. Some trustees will record the NOD several days to maybe a week after the first ad. The legal newspaper is slow to post info on NOD that is not advertised with them. Watch the dates at the bottom of the ad to be sure you are reading the FIRST publication. Good luck
