With all the subject to, Short Sales, Pre-Foreclosures, etc. How do I know the person I am dealing with is the owner?
How do I know if the address of the Forclosed Property I am interested in, is actually owned by the person listed on the paperwork?
You need to be talking to the "owner of record."
So, IMHO, you need to verify with the courthouse records which will also give you any current mortgages and liens.
