Foreclosure With Tax/Other Liens

mareks profile photo

I'm currently researching an upcoming foreclosure and found several FIFA liens at the court house.

Will the 15K tax bill for GA State back taxes have to come out of my pocket if I get high bid? And Will county court house have federal tax liens as well or do I need to research somewhere else?

I also found 2 civil law suites (lost) from leasing company and credit card company against current home owner. How will that imipact me if I purchase the home at the auction?

Thanks in advance.

Mark

Yes when it comes to tax liens and your purchase by way of a foreclosure sale the responsibility of the tax liens will normally be the responsibility of the high bidder.

Normally federal tax liens will be filed on the subject property where mortgage or deed information is filed. It is important to check the lien book as well.
