County Courthouse Question regarding pre - foreclosures

qbee777 profile photo

I went to the courthouse today to get a listing of pre-forclosures (Chicago). I stated to the clerk twice that it was pre-forclosures I was looking for and she assured me that the list she gave was what I needed. I looked through it and I don't see anything but fore- closures
Does any one know if there is another name for this list or can I go to a local title company to get this info? surprised
Thanks - Cheryl

You need to find out what it is called in your state. Pre-Foreclosure is called "Notice of Default", "Notice of Lis Pendens", or "Notice of Deliquency". It depends what state you are in.

So go back to the Clerk of Court and ask them you would like to search for Notice of XXX. In some states you can get this from Title companies. Sometimes there are services that already has done the research for you and charge you for a copy of the report.
