Auction?

Hi I am from Everett WA and I am wondering once properties go to be auctioned are they cleaned of all liens on them? Or can a property still have liens against it that you will have to take care of after your bid has been accepted. I ask mainly because there was a property that sold last week in my county for $28,000 and the homes in the neighborhood are going for over $300,000 there must be other costs involved right?
Thank you for your time

Sometimes they are free and clear. But I have come across several properties that were not and you should investigate further because it is almost impossible that the houses in the area are going for 300k but this one is being auctioned off for 28k. Sounds like a builders lein or something.

Thank you for the reply. Would the best thing to do be get a title search done before bidding? And if so can any title company give you a title search or do you have to contact the company that holds the title on the specific home you are bidding on?
