1-800 Number

I am in need of a new 1-800/toll free number for my pre-foreclosure business. Does anyone know of the cheapest or most cost effective 1-800 services?

Try www.kall8.com, I have had great success with them.

    Hi csilvestri,

Unless you absolutely desire, an 800 number certainly isnt a requirement. How far away do you plan on buying homes? If you are working just your local market (which is a good place to start), I would invest that money into more education, courses, preforeclosure seminars , etc.

    Bamz,

I like the advice. I do already have an office number i can use. My next question would be what to put on the message so that i make sure my callers leave their information.

    Hi csilvestri,

My reply would be that it is more important what information you put on your marketing/postcards etc. If you put the delicious information out there, they will leave their name and info, no matter what the recording says!

On my marketing, I always put in a blob....

"Call for details on how to stop foreclosure in its tracks" call 555-5555

    or

"Call for details on how to get a FREE Moving truck" call 555-5555

My answering system is very bland,

"if you are calling about the mailing you received, please leave your name and phone number and I will call you back!"

It is up to you, but your marketing material is where you should put your efforts in!

    Best of Success!

to make sure they leave a message....answer the phone. If your not there, have your calls fwd. to your cell or where ever your at. I'm assuming you have a cell phone, but you need to have a live voice at the other end of that line. Callers will rarely leave a message so you should try to have a live voice at the other end of that phone.

Sorry Bamz, gonna have to disagree. I would've agreed with you prior to the suprise I had from the number of calls on my vanity number.
1888UglyHouse thru ATT costs me approx. $50/mo and it's not only being remembered by prospects, I'm getting calls from other investor's ads...

It took a lot of patience to get that number on ATT's website. You have to try every combination, over and over, until you find the right one.

    hope this helps,

    Hi clear2close,

I appreciate that you disagree. If you have found a way that works good in your area, that is great.

However, I work my local area of about 150,000 people. In my area I use the same local number in all my marketing. I use 800 number for my other businesses, however, it has not proved cost effective for my preforeclosure business.

If it works for you, go get'em. However I still wouldnt advise a new investor to spend dollars on an 800 line.

I only work locally too. I use bandit signs and I assume that the number is easier to remember at high speed, also.

Either way, didn't mean it personally...

IN response to a 1-800 number...have you tried calling your local telephone company...I have a toll free number that I set up through my residential telephone service that only costs me if someone calls it. In this business it is well worth it...because if someone calls you more than likely 1/5 will be a good prospect and more than pays for the other calls. Check with your local tel company to see what they have to offer...maybe i was lucky, my toll free number I can transfer it to any number...whether it be a home phone or a cell phone...just gotta call and find out.

    Hope this helps
