Who Really Is THE Best??

WheelerDealer profile photo

Dont want to make a mistake and have the time tick for another 7 years. Dont want to try to jump through loopholes that might get closed. Who is Really the best at negociating and getting the bad stuff OFF for good? Dont want to see "acct settled". When you pull a report it is clean.

I have to agree with FLA, YOU are the best one to deal with your credit. YOU will have to give any explanations to someone you are paying to fix it anyway. YOU will need to followup. The only motivation for a company is cash, your motivation is a bit higher.

I consider www.creditboards.com the TCI of cedit information. I would be careful about letting a company or anyone else FIX my credit. Have seen a lot of stories about damage done by these companies. If you haven't already check out creditboards see if you can do it on your own. Good Luck.

Okay , How about this question.

What will make the date of last activity (DLA)change? If something is 6 years old and you call them today will it make the time tick for another 7 years/ Or is it ONLY if you send money?

I don't know the true answer for that but the same situation happened to me. The account was technically closed in 11/97 but I didn't actually pay it off until until 4/2001 by using installment payments. So on my credit report the deletion date went from 12/2004 to 4/2009. I had to fight to get the 12/2004 date back so please be careful. If I was you I would leave it alone unless you just can't bare to go 1 more year.
