Does It Matter Which Report I Pull?

tomisino profile photo

I am going to get my free credit report today and I was just wondering which one would be the best one to get. I would think they are similar but I was wondering if one or the other was more widely used or more comprehensive. Thanks. Tom

get them all. they are all different most of the time. different lenders pull different reports, and some pull all 3 (tri-merge) likef when u r looking to finance a home, oh and capital one. they pull tri-merge for CL increases of $500. WOW

if you have lots of credit (many accounts and long payment history) then the 3 scores will be very similar. If you have spotty credit or old collections that may or may not still show up, then you need to see all 3, since they will vary greatly.

Are u looking to qual. for something or do you just want to know your score?

yeah of buying a home, you will need all 3. lenders take the middle score

Does pulling your own FICO affect your scores?

I thought I had heard you could pull each of your three scores once a year for no fee, so it was recommended to pull 1 score from each every four months to stay on top of your reports.

I just want to check my scores before I go get pre-approved by a lender. Should I just pay a fee and have the lender pull them? I just closed on a purchase about a month ago and want to see how it affected my scores so I can plan for my next purchase.

Any suggestions or advice would be appreciated.

I just pulled my free annual credit report from Experian. Also I wanted to get my FICO score. However looks like the new Vantage score is the standard now. I did not check the other two bureaus. This scoring model has been in the works now for some months. The Vantage score is a co op scoring model between the rating bureaus to reduce discrepancies ?

Possibly some mortgage brokers out there could reply as to whether the Vantage score is the standard now or do the three national rating bureaus still provide their scores ?

What are you mortgage brokers looking at ?
