Do Mortgage Companies Use Different Scoring Systems?

slmrem09 profile photo

I pulled my 3 credit scores from truecredit on March 23. The scores were 627-550-627. I checked into financing a second home through Full-Spectrum and was told my credit scores were 481-473-508. Can someone tell me why there is such a difference? Do mortgage companies use different criteria?

I actually ordered from transunion and it came in with a score of 638 (Online). When I ordered all three through truecredit the score for transunion was 627, so I figured this was pretty accurate until I called CountryWide (Full Spectrum). I did request a copy of
    the scores they have
    Thanks for the information

Mortgage credit report is different from what you get online. It puts emphasis on the credit activities in last two years.

However it is too weired that the scores that Full Spectrum got are so much lower than what you got online. It sounds fishy to me. Lenders are not supposed to give you a copy of the credit report. Just ask them to read what on your credit report that they have.

By the way, if you think your credit is OK, why would you even call Full Spectrum to get a loan. In my opinion, they charge way too much. They are just another Ameriquest to me. If you need help in this matter, you can e-mail us.
