Winter Sales
Does real estate sales slow down in the winter? I live in the northeast and would like to start investing, but I wonder if I should wait until late winter early spring. I'm nervous about being stuck with a house thorugh the winter.
Real Estate like any industry is based on supply and demand. If you have a higher supply and a lower demand (such as winter) you will likely have a lower cost than in the summer with the opposite. You can still make money but you should be aware of what you are getting into.

Yes it does slow down in the winter... if you are prepared .... its a great time to pick up some real deals... and if you are on the creative side of selling.... no problem getting them occupied....
Winter is a great time for the investor, and a huge opportunity for the savvy creative types. We live in Chicago and investors are getting nervous regarding vacancy and are less creative with regards to finding tenant buyers. A word of wisdom, is to document on an ongoing basis ALL the combinations of creative techniques. For example: With the help of our mortgage broker, we created a list of every financing/mortgage product available. (30, 20, 15, year fixed, 5, 7 year balloon, 5/25, 7/23 Step, 3-2-1, 2-1, 1-0 buydown, etc.)
