Very New Newbie Needs Advice...Please
I am very new to real estate, I have read a few books, and I just started reading the posts on the forums. I have seen on numerous boards that one of the best things to do is join a real estate investment club. I took this advice and started looking for a club in my area. I wrote to the person in charge on their website and was asking how to go about joining their club and information about what topics their club covers and so forth. I was hoping that by joining the club I could learn more from the other members while I was still learning. Instead I get a response back and I am not sure what to do. Im not sure how to respond back to this gentleman because Im not sure if I am ready for what he is asking and I don't want to say no and not be able to join the club. Any Advice on this would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. The response I got is below... "My name is josh md and I have a list of pre-foreclosure houses that I need a group of people to call and send letters to. Try to set up appointments with them . We are looking for mortgages that need to be paid off and value at 30% or more below market value. Call me if you want my list. XXX-XXX-XXXX and we will split the profits. I won't make you do all the work trust me."

He is just marketing to you. Be prepared, real estate if full of people looking out for their own backside and not yours. Every one is trying to make a buck. He is obviously not on the board of a reputable Real Estaet Investment Club.

there are plenty of clubs out there; keep you eyes open and you'll find another one that is actually worthwhile.
Personally, I'd dign this guy up for a few magazine subscriptions for being a jerk.
I'm not much of a club guy; but i know it works for many people., I had a list of clubs; I'll try top find it and post it here later.
