Thoughts On Getting Started

gferoli profile photo

I have attempted to take the members advice and have begun to read as much as possible, concentrating on the beginners forum. I have two questions along those lines. First, it is not obvious which postings I have read so I find myself going back to the same postings on the following days and thus wasting time. What it wrong? Second, in order to find my area of interest is there any article which outlines the differences between a tax lien strategy, wholesaling, a short sale, etc.? Or should I just spend time in each of the various forums? Thanks confused

    Hi:
I know that when I read threads in different forums and return later, the posts that I have already read are grey. This lets me know that I have already read them. If this is not happening to you, post this question in the 'website questions' forum and they may be able to help. I do not believe there is one article that compares all the different techniques of rei in one, but if you search the articles for one topic at a time(wholesaling, short sales, tax liens) you will find several articles on each topic. Keep reading and it will start making more sense; Search the boards for specific questions you may have.(because chances are it has been asked before and if it hasn't don't hesitate to post).

    Good Luck

    Thanks Results_One,
I had noticed that the threads that I had visited were grey. When I read a particular topic I try to read all the threads associated with it. I was hoping that if I come back to a particular topic in subsequent days, that there would be some indication if additional replies had been added. I also wanted to thank you for your strategy on searching the articles. I feel foolish that it did not occur to me.
I am new to this world and find it a bit overwhelming. I am anxious to make my first deal. I am just hoping that with enough reading, it will all come together.
