Starting In Real Estate

spidercam profile photo

Hey,
My friend and I are very interested in learning about real estate and investing through it. Where should we start? We have read "Rich Dad, Poor Dad" and realise that education is one of the most important aspects of successful investing. Could anyone recommend any good books or courses? Thanks.

What type of investing do you want to do in Real Estate. Rehab, Retail, Wholesale, Pre-Foreclosure, Foreclosure, Multi-unit homes, single family homes, land lord, buy and hold, quick flip.

As you can see, there are many avenues. I would suggest figuring out what you see yourself doing, before spending money on books. I've bought many books on the subject but it wasn't until recently I found my nitch which was sub to. I would figure out what you want to do, put a plan together and dive in. Read some of the different forums here and see what people are saying....then go for it.

My wife and I are interested in investing in the real estate business, and we would like some advice for where we should look for more information on the tax lien/deed type. i have already bought the Rogue Investor Real Estate series and it helped a lot. Now I'm looking for personal information people who have already bought in this type. I'm looking for advice on which states and counties for the best experiences.

There are many books in the Rich Dad's advisor series that are good. I would start with Robert Kiyosaki's own books first:

    1. Rich Dad Poor Dad
    2. Cashflow Quadrant
    3. Rich Dad's guide to investing
    4. Retire Young, Retire Rich

    GOOD LUCK
