Starting An REI Club
How does one go about starting an REI club? Should I advertise here... or in a paper... or both? I notice there are a few that "include" my area, but I was thinking of starting one that would focus on my area.
Any advice or assistance would be appreciated. Thanks!
Speaking from experience I would of course begin by laying out the foundation.
Who's your target audience
What can you offer them
How big do you want the club
What are the fees associated with joining
Where are you going to host the meetings
IRS would like to know if this is a not for profit or for profit organization
I have 3 partners in my reia and we all have our own duties. It is very hard to run a reia by yourself, look for volunteers to start
Begin by creating a club here at TCI and then put an add in the local paper, start a web site so ppl can have a place to see what you're about.
It's not easy running a successful club, but it sure is fun, I've heard, haha

Lucky you-wish I could attend- sure it would be worth it-just to far for me (about 3hr drive south 200 miles south!)hopefully I'll catch him at a meeting in the Tampa Bay area.
