Social Security Number On Hud 1

i am going to close on a short sale soon the buyer does not want their ssn. to be disclosed they are worried about losing some of their social security income the buyer is paying cash to the bank no loans involved .intentions are to put directly into a land trust for a short term and then deed back www.to.children.this will be done at a title co. in illinois so my question is does her social have to appear for any reason at title co. thanks for any and all replies [ Edited by rayshir on Date 02/02/2004 ]

    Based on what you've sad it is clear why your client doesn't want the SS on the form. As far as I know you cannot go around a SS on Hud 1. It's the government you are playing here with. However, under the condition that the client give you the copy of the phony card there might be a room .. use your imagination and wisdom. It's your skin on the line. Good luck!

    Hi Rayshir,

    If you are not doing a conventional closing, dont use a government form. I never have conventional closings on my short sales. Simply have your attorney prepare a HUD-1 for you. I have never had a bank reject one of these!
