Rent Control Question In Los Angeles
So here I am, looking to buy my first property. Two houses on a lot, located in Silver Lake (those of you in L.A. know the area I'm talking about).
I've been looking into the Rent Control laws (don't get me started on how government should not be involved here, sheesh), and it seems to me that, since these houses were built in 1981, they aren't subject to rent control.
Anyone out there in California have any experience or more-detailed knowledge about this topic? I know the code I found online seems to back up what I'm saying, but since this will be my first property, I figure someone else might have dealt with it. Codes, after all, do change...and LA is not exactly prompt on updating their government websites.
If ya have any info, I'd appreciate the advice.
