Mentor / Partner In NJ

gottm profile photo

I'm looking to get into the business. I know plenty about it. I have plenty of handymen available and plenty of cash. But for some reason I can't seem to pull the trigger on a deal. I think with the right Mentor/Partner we should be able to build equity/income pretty quickly.

Shoot, I'm 18, have no credit, little cash, and more desire and determination to do REI than anyone I know. Already shot two blanks because I couldn't get away with the financing. What a shame. Too bad we're only half the country away.

Gottm, opportunities don't simply fall from trees. You've got to grab the tree and shake it.

To assure success, you've got to 'farm' for leads. Plant the seeds. Water the sprouts. Pull the weeds. Then harvest your crop. Sounds simple? It's true.

In your business model (if you have one) what importance have you placed upon lead generation? Have you approtioned a budget to the generation of prequalified leads?

The less you leave to 'chance' the better your success.

If you want to make this more a career and less a hobby.... contact me via PM.

I just guess I'm a little scared. Will the tenants pay? Will the building fall down? Is there something I'm missing? Can I deal with the neighborhood. Stuff like that . As they say the first one is always the hardest.[ Edited by gottm on Date 10/29/2003 ]

But once you do that first one.....the rest are simple. All you need is that confidence booster that this stuff works.

I think you are right. I'll keep on trying, but my offer still stands.
