HUD Duplex

I've come across a boarded-up, non-occupied duplex in a decent area. Trying to get as much info on this property. My realtor has just gone out of town -- two title reps I've called have not returned my call. I called a local real estate office. The lady offered an agent to provide info. I need, but said if I were to purchase the property, that agent who provided the info would be obligated to get a commission.
Any suggestions on how I can obtain info. on the property NOW???

If it is a HUD property it will be "listed" with a clearing company that HUD uses to broker their properties. Not sure who it is in CA but here in NC it is Michaelson, Conner & Boul. Every property they have has a big sign on it with a 1-800 number on it along with their website. Find out what company is brokering this duplex and you'll be able to get the info you need.

    Hope this helps...

P.S. If an agent just gives you information you don't owe them a commission unless you have a buyer's agency agreement with them (at least here in NC)
