How Do I Get Started???

First let me say that I've been watching and reading about REI for over a year now. I also have been looking at brokering notes. For one, it's hard to filter all the filth, gurus, or what ever hype they keep coming out with. I read at one place that you can make up to 10k in your first months with no money out of pocket, and another that it takes years to build up wealth with real estate. I'm unsure where to look for good info on these things. Is there someone successful who can tell me how they did it, and how it is? Mind you, I'm not looking for a hand out, just clarification. And how does one get started? What's good to study, and where do I look for the legalities? Thank you for your time.

You might want to look for a real estate investment club in your area. They have so many resources, and you will make the contacts you need. Starting out, you don't want to do it on your own. Try to find a partner with more experience. Let them get most of the profit, because you will also be getting an education.

    Good Luck

    Cowboy676,

    Glad to meet you.

I purchased a book by Zig Ziglar called "Secrets of Closing the Sale" about 10 bucks in a book store. My first and only book to get me started in this great industry.

Zig sold pots and pans, I substituted pots and pans for real estate, then I found a need and filled it.

Traveling along this road of finding the need, I began to see a pattern of what a motivated sellers needs were, then where and how to find them. The need was they are in pain, all I did was cure that pain.

What ever path you as an individual you follow or who you choose to follow, common sense should be your guide, not that complicated.

No one can hold your head and do a Vulcan mind scan to see what your goals are or how much you are willing to devote in time, money, and knowledge to reach your goals.

Real Estate Investing starts with you as a person first, so look inside yourself, then and only then will you be able to sift through and filter all the filth, gurus, or what ever hype they keep coming out with.
