How Can I Find Out About Mold?

I am in texas and have found a couple of properties that I can get from HUD for a great price. They say "evidence of mold not yet remediated" My constractor thinks it is no big deal to fix but our problem is how do we find out if the mold has been claimed on the home owners insurance. My insurance sgent told me that if it had been claimed it would be a huge project and cost more than I want to pay in order to make the property insurable. He said that he does not have a way to find if it was claimed unless he runs an estimate and that would entail him pulling my credit and I would rather not have it pulled every time I am trying to buy a property.

Would it be possible in your state to just resell the property without a disclosure? The propert may not appraise as high but put make a nightmare go away

We have worked on many homes with mold... you can get rid of it in different ways, and once removed from the home it is then wrote as mold free.. the major reason for mold . is rooms being cut off from dry heat in the winters or where water is more to sweat.such as around windows,in bathrooms and kitchens ,under sinks.anywhere water can be setting for days. if caught early enough there are simple ways to kill it and make small repairs, the longer you wait the more it will grow. never leave a home with water standing and no dry heat to keep mold away.
