Has Anyone Bought Property On Ebay?

Also, do any of you have properties out of state that you manage as rentals? Would you recommend this?

Never on e-bay. I don't have any out-of state yet, but my mom has about 10 properties in florida. She splits time between here and there. Not a bad way to write-off your vacations (Oh, I mean business trips !)

Never bought on E Bay but have been looking there - intriguing..

I live in MA in the summers - FL in the winters. Can't figure out a way to do REI in MA, but I have a good property manager in FL. Works well...

    BUT

I also have one house that came with renters, they couldn't afford to pay the going rate that I needed to pay my property manager as well. They had taken great care of the house for the previous owner (I hope they still are for me) I worked out a deal with them where they would do their own "property management" and I would charge then 10% less than I needed. (worked out the same for me) IT HAS BEEN THE BIGGEST PAIN IN THE A$$ sorry for shouting... I will never do it again.... If you do out of state only do it if you have a GREAT manager...

What do you typically pay a property manager?

I've sold two cars on eBay, which for most people is a significantly bigger deal that the usual knicknacks. Both sales were easy and at acceptable prices. Both buyers seemed pleased. I'm not sure I'd want to try to BUY a car on eBay.

I don't know what to think of it as a way to buy and sell real estate, except "times change".

Property managers genearlly run between 7.5% to 10% for SFR's some appts go as low as 5%.
