Find Appreciation Rates

qbawler311 profile photo

In reading through the forums I have seen many people use appreciation rates displayed as a percentage (ex. orlando 52%). Where can I find historical and current appreciation rates for real estate for different and various geographical regions? Any help will be greatly "appreciated"!

The Office Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight (OFHEO) publishes Housing Price Index (HPI) data quarterly for all of the Metropolitan Statistical Areas (MSA) in the country. Their data is extensive and you can get quarterly data going back into the 1970s.

A Google search on HPI and OFHEO will get you plenty of data.
