Can I Make It Alone?

I am married and interested in going into REI but I am the only one working with low income, my credit is above 600 and I am in the armed forces. What is the best way to start out??

The best way to start out is to get to know your market-- spend some time looking at properties, get a feel for prices. Start close to home.

If I were you I would come up to Santa Monica on the 12th and check out all the new Modernistic displays of houses and furnishings and get yourself up to date as to what is going on at the cutting edge. Then sit and think. Just where do I wish to enter the field of Real Estate. Do I just want to make money on simple transaction? Do I want to create and express my desires to advance housing into something more responsive to modern living and life styles? Do I just want to play with paper, notes, Trust Deeds all the goodies of finance.

Each person must examine their true motivations. Once knowing the inside of your self you can then commit to whatever it is that draws you.

    Hows that for elderly imput?

    Cheers Lucius

Take courage! Hang out in this site, read every article posted, and devote yourself to learning everything about this business - and it will all work out splendidly for you.

Similar to your situation, I have a loyal client in the armed forces for 20 years now stationed in San Diego looking forward to retirement. He has average credit, and a wife and child, and over 30 properties ranging between single family rentals to 80 unit apartment buildings.

This humble man, practical, well-self-educated, started with nothing and has built up a fortune envied by many with more education, credit, and income.

Every time I finance one of his properties, I wonder if I chose the wrong side of the table!
