Birddog To Birddog - Option To Assign?

JohnCl profile photo

Here is the scenario:

Birddog has property under contract. I want to show it to my investor. Birddog has equitable interest via the contract. I would like to get a non-exclusive option to have his P&S agreement assigned to me from the birddog to secure my interests.

Has anyone ever done this? If so, how? Am I making this too complicated?

    Good idea.

What all should I Look for in a real estate agent?

What about looking for Duplexs and asking to buy from the owner?

I would try to find some one that owns investment property themselves. They will be the most knowledgeable.

If I were you I wouldn’t fly it solo for your first deal, if that is what you are saying. Get comfortable with doing a couple of transactions and try to absorb as much information as possible.

My advice is to learn how foreclosures & other related distressed situations are recorded in your county courthouse or recording office. If you become an expert in sniffing out motivated sellers & opportunity that goes along with that. Investors will chase you down to give you money.

I bought it years ago and was pleased with simply the education on terminology, etc...

You may be able to pick it up on eBay, or even your local library...

Yeah Ebay is the way to go. Wish I would have thought of that.

    Wow!

Talk about asking an innocent question!

Thanks to all of you who responded to the original question regarding the Carlton Sheets REI program. I took your advise and went to ebay and sure enough, there were several of his items for sale. Sadly, I lost a bid ($40) for the entire program I saw on his informercial.

Let me state once and for all - I am in no way advertising for this guy. Actually, I never heard of him! Just saw the TV informercial by chance one Sunday morning. My apologies for the ruffled feathers and misunderstandings. Just asking a question.

Thanks for all of your responses!
