Use Of Old Gas Stations

Anybody have any creative ideas for uses of old gas stations which now either do not have pumps or do not come with permits from the town to pump petroleum?

I've been racking my brain trying to think of ideas.

how about a car wash...the type with self serve spay stations and maybe one brush system. if you take your time and do it right, it can be a goose laying a golden egg. good luck.

That is an interesting idea. Considering many service stations have canopies, you could have enclose the sides or have all the necessary cleaning machines hanging down for easy use.

Considering the height of the canopy, it might even be a carwash capable of actual cleaning large RV's, buses, etc.

How do companies clean these? -I assume simply with a powerwasher and a ladder.

    Something to look into.

I've seen semi truck automatic washers along the interstate before. I've always wanted to stop and check it out but I haven't. I'm not so sure the canopy would be tall enough but you can certainly check into it. I'm also not sure if that canopy structure is strong enough to support a building.

    GOOD LUCK

Ther are many ways to recycle old gas stations. Laundromat, produce stand, florist, diner, auto sales lot,dry cleaner, and others etc. Let your imagination run wild,it can become anything you want it to be.

Be carefull. Make sure you do not have any environmental problems before you buy an old gas station.

I just sold an old gas station in northern Wi that I was going to use for a retirement/ vacation place. I could also have used it for an ice cream shop, general store, antique store, car repair shop, B&B. You name it. It all depends on where it is located. My gas station was in the middle of the north woods. Your geography will decide its best use. I would have kept my gas station but I needed cash for a 74 unit deal in TX. grin
