Was wondering if any you finiance people could let me know something.. I am looking at bying a farm per se.. its actually a 20 ac coffee plantation. with a wokring wholesale/resale busines.. the plantation has a home and a rental on the property... my question is would this qualify for commercial financing .. based on the income of the farm? since could not qualify for the asking price on my own..

    Hah yeah sure.. in the middle of Trenton... No this would be a relocation.

    Actually Chet and I are essentially asking the same question. There are various US programs to assist with farm lending but obviously the answer is very different if the plantation is located outside the US.

    I would look at the farm financing available thry Dept. of Agraculuture... Special loans, rates, approval, etc...

    Apart from the obvious benefit of climate why would you want to buy a 20 acre coffee plantation in HI?

    As I recall world coffee prices are in the toilet and even in best of times its very difficult to make a living on as little as 20 acres almost anywhere unless you are going to farm it very intensively which means a lot of WORK.

    How many pounds of beans can 20 acres produce?
