Hi,

I am approaching an owner in preforeclosure tonight and thought I had a Letter of Authorization form on file and don't. I don't see it listed with the forms that are available on this site. Does anyone have an electronic version of this they could send me? If you pm me I can give you my email. any help is appreciated-thanks!

Take a 8.5x11" sheet of paper.
Caption: Authorization to Release Loan Information.

    Clearly write the loan number,
    address of the property,
    name(s) of the borrowers,
    their social security number(s)

    State the information you want

I/We the undersigned hereby authorize you to release information regarding the above-referenced loan to______________ ____________and/or their agents/assigns. This form may be duplicated in blank and or sent via facsimile transmission. This authorization is a continuation authorization for said persons to receive information about my loan, including duplicates of any notices sent to me regarding my loan. A copy of this authorization is to be considered to be as an original.

Indicate where you want the information sent (fax, telephone, mail). Have one or both borrowers sign the document.

This request doesn't need to be fancy it just needs to be clear.

Keep a record of who, when, tel # you sent this request to and when you should reasonably expect a response.

Thanks for the reply. This person is divorced and the exhusband's name is still on the mortgage. I am wondering if she signs the authorization and not the ex if the bank will comply.

You only need one signature to request a payoff amount for a mortgage.
